[Printed menu cover. A spray of six roses in pink with green leaves and stems,

Rose's Highway Inn

[Photographed through the clear sleeve of a ring binder; the binder's edge and
rings are visible along the left of the frame.]

Described from the item itself. Much of this archive is uncatalogued: where no record exists in the Library of Congress, Open Library, Internet Archive, HathiTrust or the antiquarian trade, the copy shown here may be the only described instance. Transcriptions reproduce the original as printed, including its own misspellings.

Provenance. Darrell Anderson Culinary Archives, held by the Washington State Chefs Association. No archive item number has been assigned to this scrapbook yet. The thirty-eight frames were recovered in August 2026 from northwestchefchat.com, where they had been published as a flipbook; three of them are second exposures of a page already captured and are not part of the thirty-five. The images here are derivatives — auto-oriented, rotated upright where a frame was photographed sideways, trimmed of the dark surround and downsized. The physical scrapbook remains in the archive.

Rights. Darrell Anderson compiled this scrapbook, but it is not uniformly his to license. Four pages reproduce newspaper and trade-press clippings that are still in copyright — the Federal Way Beacon, Allied Food and Beverage (September 1964), American Chef (February 1965), and The News Tribune (18 March 2003, reported by Sean Robinson). Several pages photograph and name people who are living, including the Anderson children and grandchildren at the 2002 golden anniversary and Bill and Helen Teasley in 2005 and 2006. Those names are personal data, not decoration; a page will be taken down on request.

Archival practice and policies — how this was made, what may be reused, personal data, corrections and takedown requests.
